Group Workshops

Group workshops provide a unique healing environment that individual sessions can’t quite replicate, primarily through the power of shared experience, accountability, and support.

Ivy Bridge Therapy currently offers two group workshops, but is working on adding more in the future. Learn about our current groups below.

The Regulation Station

An emotion-regulation group for 8-12 year olds.

  • This group is 8 weeks long and meets once a week for 1 hour. Typically, this group will meet after school hours (dependent on member’s scheduling needs).

*It is important for participants to commit to the group. Therefore, we ask that participants miss no more than 2 sessions.

    • Learning the zones of regulation

    • Develop coping skills for strong emotions

    • Learn healthy ways to resolve interpersonal relationships

    • Identify their physical reactions to emotions

    • Learn appropriate reactions to problems

    • Learn effective ways to communicate emotions

  • Connection and fun are core parts of the process. Kids can often feel lonely in their journey of emotion-regulation. Therefore, this group is designed to help kids hear, ‘I feel that way too’ from peers. This alone can help change the narrative from, ‘What is wrong with me?’ to ‘We are in this together.’

  • Our group prioritizes comfort, safety, and respect—so kids can be themselves without the fear of judgement.

  • Our group is specifically designed for children who are tired of feeling swept away by emotional waves. Through a mix of activities and peer support, we teach participants how to identify and understand what they are feeling before the storm peaks, as well as build a toolbox of healthy coping strategies to help navigate these storms.

  • Although parents do not attend the weekly group, your active involvement is vital to your child’s success. We provide an introductory curriculum packet so you can reinforce the weekly lessons at home. We also maintain an open-door policy via email for any concerns or updates regarding your child's journey. Our goal is to ensure that the growth discovered in group translates into lasting positive changes within the family dynamic.

  • No! You and/or your child do not need to be an active client at Ivy Bridge Therapy. This is considered a “group workshop”. Therefore, we do not accept insurance for groups.

  • Since we do not accept insurance for our “group workshops”, we are adamant at making them accessible for all. The Regulation Station group is $40 per week. This can be paid all upfront for a total of $320 or in weekly payments of $40.
