Therapy for children and adolescents can look very different than traditional talk therapy. Oftentimes, children lack the complex vocabulary to describe their challenges. Therefore, things like play, art, and behavior are used to help them process and learn. Additionally, it is important for family members to be involved in the therapeutic process, especially parents/guardians. Not only does this allow the child to receive support at home to grow, but it allows the family to also receive support.
Common areas of focus include: ADHD, behavioral issues, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem concerns.
